Discover amsterdam’s music history
Amsterdam has always been famous for its large clubbing and music scene. We thought of telling the story of the clubbing and music history in Amsterdam. To combine Amsterdam and Spotify we created a music revolution tour through Amsterdam for people to walk, as they learn.
Spotify put 10 mobile billboards at iconic/interesting places/clubs with a music (hi)story, throughout the city. To draw attention, the billboards show a photograph made at or near the place at that time in history. But most importantly, the billboards show a title, a year, and two QR codes, that the people walking the tour, can scan. One QR links to short a spotify podcast where someone tells the story about the club and the music from that time, and the other QR links to a playlist filled with music from that specific time.
So for example: ‘Club RoXY - Where house music started - 1987 t/m 1999.’
The tour leads you from the music genres and club that were popular during those specific years, in order from the past till now; a music revolution.
